Within Memorial Hospital's health care services is an all-inclusive rehabilitation department. All three of these services are represented to bring complete rehab opportunities to the community within one facility. Technologically advanced treatments are combined with small town friendliness, resulting in an environment that promotes healing.

The Physical Therapy Department treats a large range of problems from neck and back pain to sports injuries. Recent surgery, auto accident or any joint problem are all reasons a trip to PT is warranted.

Brad Bangs, PT Brad graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in Education with an Exercise Science major. He then graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005. He worked in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 years as a staff therapist and a manager before moving back to his hometown of Aurora and beginning employment with MCHI in 2007. Brad is married with one child, enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with family.
Cami Knust, PT Cami graduated from Midland Lutheran College with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and in May, 2002 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She began working at MCHI after graduation. Cami is married with 2 children and enjoys travel, recreational sports, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
Susan Hageman, PT Susan graduated from Chadron State College with a bachelor's degree in Allied Health Sciences. She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and graduated with a Master's of Physical Therapy in 2003 and a Clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2005. She lived in Omaha area for four years, working as a staff therapist in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine setting. Susan is married and enjoys photography, running, travel and being outdoors.
Dara Schuster, PTA Dara graduated from northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska with an associate degree as a physical therapist assistant in 1996. She was employed in Grand Island for one year before joining the MCHI team in May of 1998. Dara is married with 3 children. She has many pastimes, including recreational sports, scrapbooking, photography and spending time with family.
Mary Lou Hoffman, PTA Mary Lou graduated from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE in August, 2006. She began working at MCHI in September following graduation. She has 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Mary Lou is a native of Northwest Nebraska; in her spare time, she enjoys walking, sewing, crafts, reading and spending time with her family.
Occupational Therapy, 402-694-8247
The Occupational Therapy Department works with any problem or disability which impairs a person's ability to function in day-to-day activities. This includes self-cares such as getting dressed, returning to a job, or performing leisure activities. Wheelchair fittings and hand splinting are also areas where the OT Department can help.

Kimberly Eberly, MOTR/L Kim graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and biology. She graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 1998. Her clinical studies were in a long-term care facility, an acute hospital and rural elementary schools. Her employment with Memorial Hospital began immediately after graduation, in the spring of 1998. Kim is married and has two children, one daughter and one son, and enjoys traveling and recreational sports.
Jennifer Bangs, OTD, OTR/L Jen graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in biological Sciences in 2001. She then graduated from Creighton University with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree in 2004. Jen worked in diverse settings in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 years prior to moving to Aurora and beginning employment with MCHI in 2007. She is married with one child, enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with family.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy provides treatment for language, cognitive and vocalization problems, as well as evaluation swallowing difficulties. The speech therapist is available through contract services at Memorial Hospital.
All three disciplines work together with your physician to assure consumers of obtaining the highest level of function possible.
