Cardiac Rehabilitation

Memorial Hospital provides services to patients after by-pass heart surgery, stable heart pain, stent placement, heart attack, valve repair or replacement, and heart transplant.  Cardiac rehabilitation is designed to strengthen the heart, reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, reduce stress and establish a program for long-term success in managing your heart health.

Specially trained staff work with you to develop a customized treatment plan that takes into account your physical condition and short-term and long-term goals.  Throughout your rehabilitation process, you will be closely monitored by a cardiac nurse to ensure the safety of the prescribed treatment and to measure the improvement in your heart function.

Memorial Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program includes:

    • patient education and counseling
    • supervised exercise program
    • nutritional guidance and support
    • heart-healthy lifestyle modifications - focused on reducing or eliminating risk factors such as high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, obesity, and diabetes

Active participants in cardiac rehabilitation can generally realize improvements in their functional capabilities and quality of life.
