Hospice Care

Memorial Hospital works closely with various area hospice agencies to provide end-of-life care to terminally ill patients.

In marked contrast to curative treatment which focuses on extending a patient’s life by controlling or eliminating a disease or illness, Hospice’s focus is on treating the patient in an effort to provide comfort and dignity to their final days. An interdisciplinary team made up of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, home health aides, spiritual advisors, and other health professionals provide comfort and care to both the patient and the family.

Memorial Hospital can aid patients and families in determining when hospice is appropriate and which area service provider best meets the individual patient’s needs.
