April Campbell, NHA Caring Kind AwardMemorial Community Health, Inc. (MCHI) in Aurora is proud to announce that April Campbell has been named a Nebraska Hospital Association Caring Kind award recipient for 2022. For 43 years, the Caring Kind award has been given to Nebraska's most caring hospital workers – those who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers, and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities.

As a Screener at MCHI's hospital admissions entrance, April was often the first person patients, visitors, and staff would see when they arrived. She greeted everyone with a cheerful smile and helped to start each person's visit to our facility in a positive way. In addition to screening, April assisted patients by providing wheelchairs when needed, helped answer questions, and guided patients and visitors to where they needed to go within the facility.

"April's role as a screener was instrumental in helping those who entered our facility feel comfortable and safe, which contributed to the health and well-being of staff, patients and residents," commented Justin Wolf, MCHI's CEO. "Through all of the challenges of COVID-19, she maintained a positive attitude and was always willing to help wherever and whenever needed."

Since being nominated for the Caring Kind Award, April's role within MCHI has changed. "When the screener role was phased out, we were thrilled when she agreed to move into an Administrative Assistant position," added Wolf. "In her new role, April supports MCHI in a variety of ways and continues to play a role when needed to greet and guide patients and visitors."
