MCHI Recognizes Volunteers

MCHI Volunteer Appreciation Award Recipient 2024Memorial Community Health held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on April 20 at The Ivy in Aurora, honoring the many volunteers who donate their time and talents in support of residents of Memorial Community Care and East Park Villa, and patients of Memorial Community Health.

Xander Morales, who is a frequent volunteer at Memorial Community Care (MCC), was honored as the recipient of the 2024 Marilyn Wortman Volunteer Appreciation Award. While Xander is the youngest recognized for the award to date, he is one of our most giving and dedicated volunteers. He can often be found using free time after school and evenings to brighten residents' days by reading stories, helping them enjoy the outdoors on nice days, and sometimes bringing his grandma's puppies to entertain residents. Xander also eagerly helps out at many of MCC's summer weekend activities, which is so helpful to staff to have an extra pair of helping hands. Like Marilyn herself, Xander has a heart of compassion and genuine love of helping others and truly exemplifies all the qualities of a great volunteer.
