MCHI Introduces Acute Care Clinic in Aurora

Memorial Community Health, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of an Acute Care Clinic at their Memorial Health Clinic location at 609 O Street in Aurora.

The Acute Care Clinic was established specifically to address the more immediate healthcare needs of patients who have non-emergency illnesses and injuries that can't wait. An appointment is not required; patients in need of such care may walk in and be seen on a first come, first served basis. Wait times may vary based on demand.

Memorial Health Clinic's Acute Care Clinic hours are from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday.

Examples of illnesses and injuries that can be seen during Acute Care Clinic hours include:
• Minor Injuries
• Allergic Reactions
• Asthma Flare-ups
• Minor Burns
• Colds
• COVID-19 Symptoms
• Cuts, Scrapes & Bruises
• Ear Aches
• Fever
• Flu-like Symptoms
• Nausea, Upset Stomach
• Possible Fractures • Rashes
• Sinus Infections
• Sore Throat & Cough
• Sprains & Strains
• Urinary Tract Infections

Patients who have an on-going chronic care need or wish to schedule a pre-op physical, wellness exam, prescription refill visit, or other non-critical care visit are directed to schedule an appointment with their primary care provider by calling 402-694-3191. In addition, patients should seek Emergency Room care for life-threating accidents and injuries, and life-threating conditions such as chest pain, shortness of breath, severe burns, sudden onset of pain, severe allergic reactions, and other serious conditions.

"We are excited to offer acute care clinic hours for patients who need to be seen for illnesses and injuries that oftentimes arise at a moment's notice," commented Brandi Nigro, Clinic Manager. "With careful planning by providers, nurses, receptionists, and administrative staff, processes were developed and implemented in order to offer an Acute Care Clinic to our community. We have been seeing patients through this new option for the past month, and so far, have had a great response. As with anything new, we will monitor and refine our processes as needed so patients can realize the benefit of receiving more immediate care when they need it the most."
