Shelly Graham Appointed Director of Nursing at Memorial Hospital

Memorial Community Health, Inc. (MCHI) has announced the appointment of Shelly Graham, RN, MSN, CNOR, as Director of Nursing for Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Graham completed her Associates in Nursing (RN) degree through Central Community College, and attained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees from Nebraska Wesleyan University.  Shelly Graham, RN, BSN, CNOR

A Memorial Hospital employee since 1993, Graham has a wide range of patient care and management experience.  Starting as unit secretary, Graham gained valuable experience working with the healthcare team, including assisting with outpatient specialty clinics.  After becoming an RN in 2002, Graham worked in direct patient care in the areas of medical/surgical, emergency care, specialty clinics, and surgery.   Graham took on the role of surgery supervisor in 2014, during which time she became a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).  In this role, Graham managed the hospital surgical staff, collaborated and coordinated with surgeons, and monitored procedures to ensure best practices and safety were at the forefront. Most recently, Graham’s role was that of Quality Coordinator where she focused on processes, policies, and best practices as per standards in the industry.

Graham will report to the organization’s new Chief Operating Officer, Lindy Flynn.  “I am confident in the broad range of nursing experience and leadership skills that Shelly brings to her new role as Director of Nursing at Memorial Hospital,” says Flynn.  “Shelly is a great fit for this position and I’m excited for the level of support and direction she will bring to our hospital nursing program.” 

Graham and her husband, Paul, live in Aurora.  Their son, Isaac, is in 8th grade and their daughter, Alicia, is a Special Ed teacher in Omaha.
